Universities in Nigeria are either mono or multi campus. Some universities also run a dual campus system. The latter are few. While university of Benin runs a mono campus system, Delta State University is multi-campus. The three known campuses of the University are at Abraka, Oleh and Anwai (Asaba); however, the Delta State University Teaching hospital (DELSUTH) at Oghara is called Campus IV by some Deltans.

The uniqueness of DELSU multi campus system is that there are campuses with a campus, So, Abraka campus has campus F II, and III. The offices of the management staff of the University, the Vice- Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellors, the librarian and bursar, are in campus II. Campus III is the proposed main campus and developmental projects are on going there. Modem architectural designs abound in campus III. Oleh campus has two faculties as well as two mini campuses - for law and engineering respectively.
